I have one Orion XTR 12d Sub (original model)that I am looking wire up. I am not sure though how many ohms the voice coils are. The owners manual online says they are 2/8ohm. I assume then that they are actually 2 4ohm voice coild either wired in parallel or series? If anyone knows I'd appreciate it.

If they are dual 4ohms then I am thinking of running one punch 150a2 amp to each coil, since I have them handy. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Derek

yep XTR's are dual 4 ohm subwoofers

be careful running two amps on one sub though, you want the gains matched perfectly and be running the same signal through the amps.

Thanks.

What if I wire the subs down to 2 ohms. Would one fosgate 150 then put out 300W, and if so would it be stable that low?

Running it at 2 ohm is really pushing it. Some of the older fosgates would do it no problem but I'm not sure about that one.
