That MTX thing isn't very accurate. They could wire the coils in series on the MTX and then in parallel on the Kicker and JL. The JL and Kicker would be getting high amperage because of the lower impedance. VxI = P watts.

If the MTX had a higher impedance then it could handle a higher voltage since the I(current) would be less. A bit misleading.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say the dust cap probably shattered from the back pressure inside the box, which would essentially create an poorly tuned vent through the pole piece. Sub becomes unloaded, spider rips, coil completely leaves the gap and sits on the top plate to bake until it turns into liquid hot magma... Oh yah, I should be a blown sub investigator... BSI. It's so easy to pick out a genuine blown sub from ones that have had "help" from the hoof of a customer.
Sounds about right.

Ya There is no way that MTX is capable of building a better woofer They must have rigged the test

And you were in the room when they ran the test right

umm ok about my crossover post and that dude's gay reply. let me correct myself incase u are totally retarded. distrotion killed that sub, not over powering. Power had almost nothing to do with that sub blowing up in the manner that it did. Distortion - either clipping or the xover is not set right. Do u understand now or are u gonna put another gay azz reply with one of the gay smilies?

i overpower my subs by more than 1000rms into each and guess what.....THEY ARE FINE!!!! As soon as u go too high on the xover they blow up in the way that this P2 has.

were u in the room? .......probably, but a room full of homosexual men.

we had seen many 'rigged' car audi product tests and flat out false advertisment. After all Pyramid and Pyle do rate their gear at 500000000 watts. But u are saying that THERE IS NO WAY that MTX could resort to the same technique????

U simply dont know. So dont go asking that dude if he was in the room meanwhile u were in the wrong room yourself.

also deathtofs sorry but u dont know what u are talking about. get off this forum.

do u know that 140 volts is no more than 2000 watts rms?????? MTX IS SUPPOSED TO ABLE TO TAKE IT. There are ALOT of subs that can take it just as well. So it's nothing special. Get a clue then come back. in the mean time u can

............BLOW ME.............

Hehe... I guess I thought that sub was the P3 or something... I gotta print this off cause my buddy Whahoo has the same subs and is thinking about getting a larger amp for them... lol...

Anyway... Tinted... IMO distortion is rarely the root cause of woofer failure... having the gains up high on that amp would just be giving them too much power... nuff said...
