Are P3's good subs?

How do Fosgate P3 10's stack up to other higher end subs? I'm having trouble finding a lot of info and I want to make a decision quick on whether or not to get them. I'm almost finished the ported box I'm building for my P1 10's, and now my local audio shop has two P3 10's with a P1000.1bd amp that I really want. Should I go for it and will I be satisfied with the P3's? Will my box for the P1 10's work for the P3's?

Box is 2.9cu. ft. @ 37hz

I like loud booming bass, I prefer rock/metal but I listen to a lot of rap in my car just for the bass. Will I always be dissapointed with 10'' subs or can I make them hit low and hard just as well as some 12's or bigger?

i use to have a pair of p3 12" in ma grand am with 1000watts rms goin to them, and loved them, i had them in a box that was 4cu.ft @ 34hz so 2.9 @ 37 is alil big for them but i would be good, also if u want them to hit low u need to tune the box alil bit lower like 32-34

You should like the P3's more than the P1's. They are built better and handle more power.

Ahh thank you, that's kinda what I was looking for lol..

I was originally going to get the T1's, but after looking at all the specs and from what the guys at the local shop said there isn't much of a difference from the P3's.. So I figured I'd save money and get them instead.

So does it make sense to use the box I just built and get P3's or spend the same amount or a little more on a different high end system? I'm putting a ton of work and time into the box I'm building that Jalal drew up for me, I'm making sure it's as perfect as it can possibly be so I'd kinda like to use it but I'll still build another if needed.

Well I'm not sure if the box requirements are the same for the P3's. I'd check with Jalat and see if his sketchup will change as far as vb and port size/length. As for a "high end system" I personally wouldn't use either RF sub...

If you are going to make such a biased post, why dont you at least suggest what subs would be better for the money than the P3s?

The P3s are very good for the money yes! Thumpper also has tried them and he found them to be great for the price.
