There are lots and lots of options open to you. It depends on your budget and the expectations you have for that budget.

 

I've got nothing against P3's. I had 3 of them before my 3 JL's. I have no idea how much they cost now, but they were 350 each (12") at BestBuy when I bought them. All I'm saying is that for $300 subs, there are many on the market.

 

i got 2 12" p3s and a RF p1000, hits pretty hard and i like them. so i say go for it

 

Did you pay $350 for both?

The MSRP of the P3 12" was $280.00 in 2008 and $289.00 in 2009

2006/07 Best buy $349.99 EACH. They were the ones that had the giant cast baskets that even covered the magnet .... apparently they have gotten cheaper.

 

Rockford Fosgate p3's are awesome lil subs, I used 1 12" P3 Dual 4 ohm at Mobile Dynamics and did 136 db with a 1.9 cubic foot box tuned to 36 hz and running off a Rockford Fosgate 400 rms Amp. But as said above, there are always gonna be better subs, but these are great for beginners as they lack sound quality big time, but give some good spl with the right amp.

 

You are correct, MSRP in 2007 was $280.00 and in 2006 was $350.00. The sub did change from 2006 to 2007.
