pdx 1000

i have a pdx 1000, and on the back there are 4 labeled 20amp fuses.
i have seen another pdx 1000 with 25 amp fuses...? anyone know why is that?

probably someone that popped the 20's and decided to up them to avoid the annoyance.

not recommended.

no - i bought mine new and the header beside the fuse heading says 20 amps.
the other pdx 1000 says 25.

im wondering if there is more than one model of this unit and mine(or his/her) amp is older version or somethin. hopefully somone can chime in..

i have read in the past that earlier models of the 1.1000's had issues popping the 20's. so alpine changed them and started running 25's.

i have never confirmed this myself though.

yeah, maybe a design change to alleviate a problem, but a little strange as the new pdx m12, 1200 watt amp has 25 amp fuses.

yup, i can confirm this since i owned both model, the one with the 20A will blow fuse if push to the max, you can safely replace them with 25A (Alpine Support Approved).
