PG Sapphire
#2
When I was in the game back so many years ago our shop sold PG. IMO the SA's weren't great pieces and they were the only PG amps we got returns on.
A product PG wouldn't mind forgetting about IMO.
A few years later PG was using the QX, XS, ZX, ZPA lines and for the cash the XS blew the old SA's out of the water and were great products.
I mean the SA1.4x was $700CDN new for an entry level 45x4 amp. Even the QX which was PG's first amp made offshore was a good performer.

I have a SA 3.0X, and it's been a pretty good amp. The Sapphire line was there "more affordable" line, but I haven't had any problems. I'm not using it right now, but I'm going to be hooking it up again to play with some stuff if it ever gets a bit warmer outside.

I used to have a 5 channel SA1.5X and one day it powered it up and it sounded like the crossover was all wonky, anyways there were several cold solder joints and it never really worked properly after I had it professionally fixed. I retired that amp.
