WOW that is going to leave a huge gap in there line up, from what I have heard the Xenon are suppose to be superior to the TI line up and I realy am not impressed with the Octane R line up it seems to be all show no go.

I wonder if the Xenon amps are going to have the same US to Canada price gap the TI amps had.

Xenon is replacing both the Ti and Tantrum X lines and according to sources the price point will be between the two old lines, so there shouldn't be a huge gap. There will be a difference though.

I had the privilege of seeing the new equipment at CES and I can tell you the stuff is crazy ! From my understanding, the power ratings are very conservative. Also, in regards to heat dissipation they're not only thermally protected but (at least in the monoblocks) they have dual cooling fans that blow down on the heatsink (which is about twice the size of the heatsink in the old Ti amps). Good looks, performance and reasonably priced... darn good combination as far as I'm concerned.

If you want serious power, they've also designed a Ti Elite amp. It's a 4 channel, rated at 2,500 watts per channel; that's right, per channel. Ten thousand watts of RMS power they call the MPH10K. I have pics, unfortunately for some reason I can't pull them up... but as soon as I am able to I'll post them.

Tantrum X = garbage
The amps were alright but the subs were awful. I didn't like them much at all.

3 Octane R 12s in a ported box with 500 watts total hit 146.7dB legal though In my opinion the cosmetics of the new Xenon subs are gawdy (borderline ugly), ricey, you know all that stuff. If they glow blue I don't know what I'll dow ith myself. However, the amps look amazing. If they bring down the prices, I might buy one since a major stumbling block towards getting a Titanium amplifier was insane prices ($2,000 for a 1000.2? they can't be THAT good when a 1000/1 JL is only $1300).

Do not see the reason you would hope it was one ohm stable but yes it is 1 ohm stable and produces 10Kw from 1 to 4 ohm

bumpin nova you must have one of your product lines mixed up. tantrum x amps do not exist. the tantrum did and the octane did. the xenon looks ike great stuff. all the specs are posted on www.phoenixgold.com in the downloads section in the manuals. look in the speaker and amplifier folders.
ftp://208.187.38.55/Phoenix_Gold/Manuals/ i think. the MPH10K is the only one not on there . Hey Moe, i got the specs for it if you want them email me and i can get them to you. they're at work. gives anew meaning to a 1 amp system. were looking into aquiring one of these babies. 900 amps of current draw. ouch, can you say battery bank, heck can you say alternator bank. lol

I know Tantrum X amps don't exist I think people knew what I meant though. The amps were very nice, great bargains for their performance, it's just the subs and speakers that were terrible, particularily the older ones that looked like QXs with the really boring cone. Cheeeap. Even my Punch Zs felt more expensive then a TX, and the sound was nothing really special either. Efficient I guess but considering Titaniums cost less I would take the best sub PG has to offer instead of their middle-of-the-road deal.

You're right about the old Tantrums, bumpin', the ones that looked like the old QX's. They did look cheap; however they still performed very well even though they didn't look that good. I guess the boys at PG are allowed one slip of brain power once in a while... not very often though !

By the same token, last year's Tantrum X subs had the looks AND performance ! It's a shame they were only available for the one season... those subs really rocked. Same with the amps; I can tell you from experience that they were the shizz. When you can take twelve amps and four 12 inch subs and hit 173.1 dB, you know they did their homework !
