Generally, PG is more expensive, doesn't that mean their amps are alot more cleaner, like anyone can produce mindless amount of power, but wat makes PG's amps more expensive than rockford amps. ???

More expensive is always better. So why bother comparing?
Just buy the most expensive stuff and know you have the best/loudest/cleanest/etc....

In my 100 percent biased opinion PG kicks ass!

It's not the most expensive equiptment; it all depends on which salesman lies the best!!
:D

On a serious note, I"ve heard a lot of Rockford and PG setups especially and have come across a few nice rockford setups and a few nice PG setups.. as well as a few shaky ones... I think I have to agree with what has already been stated a few times and say that it comes down to the install and application.

I would also like to point out that a PG salesman told me that PG amps are better than rockford hands down because they are "built better"... but are they really? From the rockford side.. another salesman told me that rockford amps are just as good as PG (or better) because "the company has been around forever".... uh.. may be true, but what does that have to do with anything?

If you have PG, don't worry what your buddy is saying.. just because one person had a bad experience with PG, doesn't mean you can't have a really nice sounding PG system yourself. If he would have had problems with his rockford equiptment (lets say, a few lemons), do you think his opinion would change?

Personally I think people grow too strong of a bond with certain products, it almost seems as if they would go to war for it if that's what it came down to, irreguardless of the circumstances! like c'mon.

It's in the install. Dukk was mentioning to me that Radio Shack gear rules when he installs it. And I believe him as he is Gawd of audio things. But seriously, both are good but at the end of the day, ruled by the quality of the install as you can make good gear fart like a burrito eating hamster.

Obviously your not going to get the answer your looking for.

Can you compare Ford to GM or Honda to Toyota? They all make good quality products it comes down to preference.

Now for me I use RF in my current setup, that doesnt meen I dislike other products and given the chance I would love to try a piece of PG equipment. So if your looking for someone to come out and give you a definitive answer you wont get it here. Most of the people here are seasoned audio enthusiasts who love to try different products..

So you can tell you buddy yes RF is nice but I prefer PG.

lol - Tom, you ass

Well gear is gear is gear but the real thing to see here is that your buddy is gonna blow your doors off because he runs a ported box :D

I probably would have bought Rockford stuff for my setup if it didn't get so slammed by some people. It has been argued that Rockford 'sold out' and that they don't make their stuff in the USA anymore.

I'll tell you one thing, I just bought a 4 channel Phoenix Gold Octane amp and I couldn't be happier. I'm pretty sure that all of the Octane stuff isn't made in the USA. I'd bet you if my Phoenix Gold was set against a Rockford of the same or similar composition, it would be hard to tell the difference.

Neither company is the company that they used to be, they both build respectable products, Rockford Fosphate comes into Canada a little cheaper than Kleenex Gold does, thus it makes the Kleenex gear a little more expensive. Not an indication of quality or lack thereof. Both are good gear but Dukk is right, your friend is going to lay the smack down on you with his ported enclosure. (shakes head - agrees with Dukk?)
