Just wondering if anybody has experienced a sudden failure in thier ti series amps. My amp when "turned on" will start the fan and the overload light comes on for about two seconds which I believe is normal, but the tri-LED light does not come on and no sound is produced. I took the board apart last night and could not find any signs of overheating. When the amp failed I was not beating on it and had just started playing it on the way to work, it only powers a set of 5 1/4".

Any suggestions would be extremly appreciated and I have access to a very good multi-meter if someone wants to give me a step by step.

Thanks

Take alook at where the power block is screwed to the circuit board. The screws loosen off occasionally.

What about dust? Usually end up with dust or dog hair wrapped around the fets on my Zx`s. Blew it all out and the amp worked fine.

Check the solder connection of the RCA to the circuit board. Some do become unsoldered.

Mind you my gear is not the Ti series but they are pretty close.

Update: It would seem that the front right output on my Alpine 9815 is all messed up now as well. I have seen this when voltage is backfed through the outputs or shorted out. Does this give anybody some more ideas as to what component could have failed first and what would have caused it?

prolly a transistor in the PS or outputs

Get a DDm and measure every combination of pins
on each transistor.
YOur looking for 0 ohms . if you get that the component is shot.
