Pioneer components (TS-D1720C) ??

Anyone here have the pioneer TS-D1720C components?

Im trying to decide between this set and the RF T1652-S 6.5 components.

I havent been seeing much info on the RF but the pioneer's have a pretty good reputation? The only problem is they are over size 6.75" , and this might be a problem considering I can fit 6.5" speakers.

Anyone own a pair or have anything to say about them? Oh ya I have a set of alpine type-r components available too. SPR17s.

So I have Alpine type r, RF t1652-s and the pioneers to decide among.

All will be amped (undecided on amp atm, looking at RF P400-2).

any suggestions?

the pioneer prs 720 can be had on ebay for under 300.00bucks.. and they are awsome.. go to diyma.com and check out members reviews. npdang tested them on the klippel machine and rated them as some of the best drivers ever tested.. and thats against hat, morel, hertz mille, and the benchmark peerless 830883

I was considering buying a set of the pioneers TS-D1720C myself. bestbuy has them on for $199. I was talking to a guy at future shop and he recamended the infinity reference 6030CS $249 he claimed that the infinity's were beter than the pioneer. I'm still probably going with the pioneers. I've had pioneers in the past and loved them!

I have the Infinity's. They are extemely "bright" even with the x-over set at -3db. They are not my favourite. I installed a set of SPR Alpines in a Jetta, I really liked the neutral sound of them. I have not heard the Pioneers.

those Pioneers are good and very pleasant to listen too. They were demoed (I think this was the model) at CES at the Venetian a couple years ago and were being compared as a HIGH END home audio piece would be via ODR electronics. They were a little soft on bass impact, they had lots of mid and midbass clarity, soft relaxed tweeter (not fatiguing) but not extended HF response either... worth a listen, I didnt think the tweeter was as good as the woofer
A number of SQ competitors have used them but never maxed out the capabilities of the comp set
