So I have had my DEX-P99RS since they were released a while back, and the unit is spectacular.

With such a good experience with this headunit, I have been dying to use Pioneers Stage 4 amps.

So when a few became available to me, I couldn't resist picking them up!
These will be installed in the next few days. Just wanted to give everyone a look at what they are all about.

I am most excited about the A900's. Four channels, four gains, zero filters. It is just pure amplification.

I am going to have two A900's on my 3way front stage, and a 1200SPL splitting duties between my subwoofer and tactile transducer.

I'll give more thoughts on these amps once the install is complete and they are up and running.

goalie_35 is using those amps. He has had good success with them.

 

ya, I haven't been able to find a whole lot of information on user experience with these. But from what I have heard, everyone is completely satisfied.

If you happen to be out there reading, whats your take on these amps goalie_35? lol

 

Amps would be hard to not be satisfied with IMO haha

They look nice, I def like pioneer stuff and those are some expensive peices of hardware.

 

amps are as good a design as possible.. huge output fets for lots of headroom, lots of isolation of the circuits, lots of control. the gain is very linear, solid heat shink, which disipates heat very well, and they put out decent ac voltage. but dollar for dollar, there are alot cheaper amps that put out that much power.

 

I gotta say, i was taken aback by the "50 watts".

There is no drop off at all in power from the leviathan. A lot better dynamics, noise floor, and left/right channel separation though.


Just trying to figure out a possible ground loop.
static coming from the sub amp. constant volume regardless of volume or gain. always evident with RCA removed. not noticable during music. but easily noticable up to a foot or two away from the sub.

reliability is not there problem. they are overbuilt. the stupid price is the issue..

 

ya the price is crazy on them. I definitely could not have afforded to buy these three amps new :S

its a shame more people won't get to experience them, but at least the Stage 4 stuff will remain semi exclusive.

 

hehe I can't beleive you downgraded from the zeds to these.
I do underatand the need for change though, changing is great.
