broken speaker?

Hey I have bad sound only in 1 of my 2 doors. Sounds like static but its not all the time! Do I have a busted speaker or just a bad connexion? The sound in much less nice than in the other door...

That's happened to me in my car a few times. I'll start a C.D or D.V.D and I'll get a scratching static sound from just one speaker but it still plays alright. Usually when I switch up disks it sounds normal again. It rarely happens but I'm stumped. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you.

Sounds like a coil is toasty and the speaker is on the way out.

If the speaker is indeed the problem you'll have to contact BA to find out if they'll sell you a replacement (if it's out of warranty).

You can also put up a Want To Buy note in all the forums for anyone who's got an extra kicking around and search Ebay also.

ye, i switched the rca and sound does stay in the same speaker, it is intermittent which makes it hard to know what it is. How long will a speaker usually last? cross over tweeters and all... is 5 years an OLD system or it could go 10 years on...
