Now what might be the cause of these resistors going? They would obviously cause the FET's to pop... but what would make them go? too much current draw?
The big ones were damaged when the FETs tried to output more than they can (short after them) while the smaller ones, if bad, leads to a driver replacement.

Check dB-r forum (caco) and read about how complicated is to fix such a big amp.

Come on stop with the cry baby bullshit.......its called a joke relax. The amps worked fine when I sold them. I never once put them into protection. You guys seem to want to blame me for them blowing up but won't come out and say it.

Yeah I get where you are coming from.....I also get where Paul is coming from. He asked why his amp did that and we explain possible reason. My best advice would be to get it fixed professionally and spend the extra cash. Sure he might be able to fix but like I said early its a big risks and one small mistake could turn into more problems.

fixing an amp like this can be more complicated than seems.

unless you have small hands of the chinese child who built them in the first place.

id say a good 99% of the peopel that own these big amps dont know anythign about them other than how to use them and what numbers they do. So to ask jesse to give an answer about somthign he doesnt know is kind of ignorant.

But i have gone out of my way to find the fix to your problem paul.

to my knowledge those are the only 2 reliable places for repairs. if you want it fixed, its a phone call and shipping crate away.

If your set on fixing it yourself, cca is probably not the best place to look for help, as no one fixes them.\, or even has them, to my knowledge.

Trust me even professionals make mistake......Nate sent one of his amps to the Amp Repair Center and he got it back and it instantly smoked again. He sent it back under warrenty and got it fixed again and its working fine now. This is a big amp to tackle but good luck if you do decide to fix it yourself. I hope it gets back up and running again.
