ported vs sealed

In a large area you are going to get flatter response and better extention with a ported box tuned low.... you can also tune for spl to rival any sealed box in output..... but on the otherhand sealed will have the best group delay characteristics.... (and there are also several other factors)


the pros that know recommend sealed for SQ/SQL auto use... the right drivers and box are generally going to be more easilly matched to the cabin gain of your vehicle because they both have they same rate of natural roll off....



I figure Dukk only likes ported boxes because he uses 8s and still wants to get sort of loud @ 132Db given 60hz.......
