If an amp calls for an 8 gauge wire can it be damaged if you run a 4 gauge with a reducer to an 8 gauge. My question is will it draw to much power. Just some background my mono amp requires a 0 gauge power feed, but my speaker amp can only accomodate an 8 gauge power feed. So I only want to run 1 wire from the battery into a distribution box, but I can't find one that has a 0 gauge input to 0 gauge output and and 8 gauge output. There seems to only be 0 gauge input to 0 gauge output to 4 gauge output.

the wire itself will not draw any power, it's the amp itself that draws the power so yes this setup will do just fine. Good luck

Going with a larger wire never hurts... it's only a bad thing if you go with too small of a wire... so if it requires an 8 ga wire and you use a 10... that is not suggested.
