I have a couple sets of brand new '2-pole' versions sitting here right now. They are 1/0 guage compatible....perfect for power and/or ground wiring...

I am cosidering using them to allow for easy removal of my sub box (since the amps will be attached to it, and such) in the truck...

Would this work well? I figure it would at the least be SAFER than having the power wire loose in the trunk.
Since these accept two wires (pos/neg on the forklift batteries at work) I was thinking of using one side for power, and the other for ground...would this work??

Anybody wanna give me some feedback, I would much appreciate it.

it'd be a lot safer, and (IMHO) very useful, if you're going to be taking the box out more than once every couple months. I often use twist-lock connectors on sub boxes and power hookups, just for that reason.

 

I use those in almost all my larger installs for things like charge plugs, removable amp racks, battery hook ups, sub boxes etc.

They are dirt cheap to buy where I get them, like $14 each side plus another $18 for the cover to protect the end when they are unpluged.

They are meant for 1/0 and 4 awg wire, nothing smaller.............

 

The ones I 'obtained' from the machine shop are for 1/0 guage...

Tim, I am using them for the spare tire box, as you did in the Suburban...

Maybe I will try to 'obtain' some more if anyone is interested....
