pro sound subs in a car

Has anyone used pro sound subs like the JBL 2226G (15" 4ohm) in a car audio application. I noticed that it has almost the exact T/S parameters as the famous JBL 1500 gti car sub. I plotted both of them on winisd and got the same plots for spl, excursion, group delay and port velocity in the same size box...4 cubes. Just wondering what they sound like in a car.

They have better efficiency, don't they?

there are differences:

spec ..........1500 gti.............2226g

fs ............. 35hz.................40hz
vas ..........189 L................ 175 L
qts ............. .34................. .31
qms.............5.8...................5.0
qes.............. .36............... .33
xmax............5.46mm............7.6mm
power..........600watts..........600watts
bl..................13.5................13.5
mmd.............119grams...........105 grams

There are differences, but they seem fairly minor overall, which makes me think that they should work similarly in a car application, and they model almost identically on winisd. The 1500 gti has a slightly heavier cone, less xmax, and a lower fs. They both seems to have the same magnet structure and both have 4" voice colis with the same DC resistance...2.5 ohms for the 4ohm version. I need a shallower mount 15", that's as efficient as possible for my application and that's why I'm thinking about the 2226G.

How do the prices compare?
Ordering JBL Professional 15" Speakers - FactoryDirectSpeakers.com

the Xmax seems a bit low compared to typical car subs no?
