Punch P3 question

Punch P3 question

I just picked it up off a buddy and hes telling me that the coils cut out and if you give the cone a good tap that it will cut back in

i know its not much information however how do i solve this problem?

if thats the case then it needs a new voicecoil, and that means that the surround and cone have to come off, so that plus the cost of the VC, and then a recone, will probably cost more in parts and labour, than a new sub would be... you can pick up a brand new P3 12" for 250, and a 10 for 230 retail...

Sounds like a flat spot in the voice coil. Nothing you can do but recone the woofers.
