Q-logic Kick panels !!
#21
To the average, listener, they cant tell...
PS: I'm not entering my car in an SQ contest any time soon....
So does it justify spending $400 for 10 cm ? I dunno.....
All I know is that I can probably get the same midbass outta my doors, as well as in a Kickpanel...or am I wrong ?

As I wave my hand and use my Jedi mind tricks "Listen to the custom installer"
You have bought nice stuff, now to close the deal & do the install right otherwise you do not get what you paid for!

since you are open to some experimentation, leave the wire on your tweeters 2-3 feet long and try moving them around for the first week or two. Try the top of the door, right above the mid, on the dash, and then in the kickpanel. I found in my Civic that while far from ideal, having the mid in the door and just the tweeter in the kickpanel was a very easy way to get surprisingly decent imaging

Dont expect a ton of midbass response if your just throwing the mids in the doors, you have to completely seal the door up and have a strong mounting are for the speaker to even come close to the midbass from a sealed kick panel.
I for one would definitely invest in some kick panels if your gonna be spending $450 on a set of component speakers.
You think its just 10cm man, but its having the speakers aimed properly for the best soudn stage, having the midrange/midbass sealed and you wont have to deaden your doors with like 3 layers of deadening which can be quite expensive.
I vote for kicks

^ Kicks are a great way to go, but so is Dukks technique, and longer runs than 3 feet will let you try the tweets in the A pillars too. This way you hear it different ways and see which works best for you in your car (your stuff is good take your time and set it up right).
I have a 7" in my door and my door isnt sealed (I like to think of it as ported but its just leaky) and my mid bass runs full to lean depending on setup.
