I'm new to car audio and have a question about a amp.
I just bought the Exile Monoblock 1-Channel Car Amplifier 500.1 to power MTX Terminator Dual 12" Subwoofer Box was that a good choice or should I go with something else ?

How much was the amp and subs? What is the voicecoil arrangement of the subs?

 

The subs were $150 the amp was $170.

That's all it says on the specs.

 

You need to know if the subs are a svc 4 ohm, dual 4 ohm, dual 2 ohm..... Sounds like a good deal on the amp for sure.

Just a noob here, but I have the same amp, got it for $140 at an earlier sale. Havent put it in yet though, still working on the wiring. It will be powering dual kicker 12" at 2ohm total, similar kind of setup as yours.

The specs for your sub box seem to say it handles 400wrms at 2ohm, while the amp is 500wrms at 2ohm. Slightly overpowered so take care with it and adjust the gain properly, you should be ok.

I was a little concerned about the amp if it was powerful enough.
As far as the install goes I'm getting everything installed at Futureshop so that should be ok.
