Question

Ok, I have a new Alpine 9853 deck. When I increase the volume from 0-24/25 it increases like normal but when I increase from 25-35 there is no change in the sound level. What could be the cause of this, could it be a bad unit or wiring or another problem?? Any help would be great guys!

your clipping the deck.... means that no matter how much higher in volume you go....the wattage coming from the deck to the amp isn't changing...... correct me if I'm wrong????

read your manual if it says to wire it straight to the battery then do it and you'll notice the difference..... the 9853 however does not require you to go to battery but there's no harm in doin so I know I did and have noticed a difference (thanks mer-dawg)

Ok, thanks I'll try wiring it straight to the battery. What kinda in-line fuse should be used 20 or 30amp?

Looking at the manual it shows the yellow(battery) and red(ignition) wires going to battery, should I do both or just the yellow?
