Well guys I like to use the CCA crowd as a voice in my business decisions. I want to know what you think of up and coming car audio companies as a whole. What you feel they do for the industry and if you like them or dislike them. When we started doing the Sundown gear I got good feedback and lately it has seemed to turn south. I don't want smart *** comments or jokes just very honest opinions. Even the people that may have had issues with me I would like your input as well. As I was looking into another couple of these types of companies but if you feel that its just not worth it or im spinning my wheels please speak now.
Thanks to all

You already know how I feel about the smaller companies! Theres always room for more!!! I believe you said it best How the Hell are we to know what is good or not without trying it, Who knew RE or similar companies were good without trying them?
IMO a new up and coming company needs to have something new to show. 1000watt, 1500watt, etc Class D amps that look to have the identical board as the last dozen 'new amazing' companies had is so played out already *yawn*. Not that I am implying that this reflects Sundown - just a general observation.
Make something cool or something unique or be doomed to be replaced by the next 'new amazing' company..

I like to be able to have something in my car that's not "main-stream" or "name brand" and shock the hell outta people when they hear it. I used to run a full Kicker setup and the performance was great, the value per dollar spent (at used prices) wasn't IMO wasn't near that of my elemental Design's setup in my datsun (all purchased new). I don't know if eD is considered new or small but IMO they are relatively unheard of in my area and I've only seen one other person with their gear. They build quality equipment, have phenominal customer service and an amazing warranty (5yrs, transferable).
If there were more companies like this out there I think it would be a good thing.
If the new company is going to go out and just copy what's out there and make it branded as their own, well they can stay at home. My personal view (i guess as a more SQ derived listener) is that a wide range of products should be able to be had and not just a huge sub mated to an even huger amp. If you want to appeal to the masses you will need the 4-600rms amps/subs almost more than the 2500rms amps/subs to be able to get yourself out into the market. I'd be willing to bet that more people run sub1000w sub-stages than 1500+. Yes, this club will definately have a concentrated number of 1500w substages but this is really a small, small fraction of the market thats out there.
maybe I'm in left field and you ARE aiming for the crowd that is this site, if so then the reverse of what i said would probably work, but IMO that would be a short term business until the product lines expanded.
my head hurts, i'm thinking too much, i need another coffee.

well, there is always room for good companys, but if you're new and offering the same thing as a respected company that's been around for 20+ years...it's going to be hard to get my business. I for one, buy products based on previous experience from large, well established, car audio icons. I've yet to see a small company offer something useful to me that was not available from one of the big boys. At least I know if I ever need parts for my components, they're out there. If you're into spl competitions etc., there may be some smaller company's that specifically cater to these markets (Digital Designs), but even they(though they seem to make an excellent product, and offer some very unique services) are not offering anything that can't be had from large car audio companys. Pioneer has had or still has the world record for spl as far as I know (not an spl'r, so I may be mistaken), RF is still very competitive as well as Kicker etc...While, I encourage new companys to get in, please have something worth looking at. Right now the only new company's products I'm actually thinking about trying is Digital Designs, and they're not that new anymore!!
if you are going to do it ,do something NEW not the same old CRAP
i would look at big amps , the best SQ speakers ,or a line of spl subs
the big amps (spl set up are looking for all the time _
SQ set up are hard to fine that are a good $
spl subs get f-ed by spler with big amps
so that is where i can see the $

I feel the same way as everyone else, as long as the company has new ideas and maby even a unique way of looking at car audio then they are definetly worth a try. But NO BARGAIN companies. We have enough companies for the cheap people such as pyle and legacy, what we need are companies that actually put time and money into creating well-built equipment.
