re:Shallow subs, any good?

need my hatch for utility purposess and thinking of getting a shallow sub. Has anyone ever heard of a good shallow sub? I've only seen very few being sold and woundering if they were really worth the investment?
Please post your thoughts and experiences

The elemental designs SQ10 seems to be getting pretty good reviews, and its quite reasonably priced, but I havent heard one myself.

I have heard the pioneer one, and I wasnt impressed.

I guess it depends what you are used to and what you want, but check out the SQ10... it may just do what you want.

I have had amazing results from the Earthquake shallow mount subs so far. Brought them in blind and not one has let a customer down yet.

John Janowitz (Stryke Audio/Acoustic-Elegance) used to have a slimline 10" driver that was really quite impressive, but I'm not 100% sure if it's still available. Probably the best slimline I have heard so far. I'll check that out and get back to this thread.

IMO, the Kicker Comp VT's get louder and sound as good as the SQ10, Pioneers, and Clarion shallows...

we have used the preemiers many times and our customers are very satisfied. the trick with those uis you cant have too big of a box and really only use a sealed box. never really used them in a trunk..... but have done many builds under truck seats and what have you. you have to remamber thats really what these drivers were designed for.

I have to agree with methodman I have had the very same experiences with the premier shallow mount subwoofers

They Work very good in sealed boxes Bassworx makes one for the premier subs
