reccomendations for subs amp and speakers to run in an 02 maxima w/ bose stereo
in short I want to replace the system in my maxima since it sounds distorted while listening to songs with lots of bass. So my main goals are good sound quality. So a new amp subs and speakers would probably help the most aside from a new head unit which suggestions would also be good for so yes. thanks in advance

Too many open questions to be answered. Start with a budget, then things can be worked up for you. Your idea of good sound and other peoples are going to be wildly different, as are the budgets. You need a good solid head unit, then we can go from there. Eclipse, Pioneer Premiere and Kenwood Excelon all are solid head units to consider. Are you after a dvd / lcd based system or just a good cd player with ipod capability?

I reccomend buying a fair bit of sound deadening material and doing the trunk yourself to save some coin on install. for speakers, it's wide open. GO shop around with your ears. for amps, the reality is, any of the name brand products are all pretty good quality wise. Avoid dirt cheap flea market stuff and you'll be fine. If you don't intend to upgrade your electrical system, I'd try to keep everything under 1000Wrms mark for the sub amp and 4 channel...
Go to some local retailers and sample their stuff. ask questions. if at all possible avoid big box stores as they perpetuate ignorance in this industry. For the install, ask around as well find out which shop(s) have a solid reputation for service and go there.
there's so many good parts out there at very reasonable prices that naing brands would just show you my pesonal Bias and not do anything for actually getting you what you're looking for.
sorry it's not a dfintive answer with a road map and precise directions, but it's really the best bet for you to be satisfied with your purchase. A specialized local shop can also change out equipment and such if your not fully pleased with your nitial purchase. buying online and being dissapointed means buying stuff twice.
