Is it recommended or ok to mount the amp to the sub box itself?

^ and I would politely ask, who the hell is e-Audio? Flavor of the week at some point?

I'm poking fun, but really, why would you support a company that fails on such a basic point? I'd be wary of anything they made.

I'm with Paul, if you are concerned about a board flexing, you have far bigger problems to consider.

But it's not the first time I've heard of this from higher powered amps.

All of those amps that share that board except for one (ground zero) don't have the board supported and break fets.
all my amps except for 1 broke the fets driving from san mateo to calgary, just from vibration.
i'll mod them all when i repair them.

IMO, the best place would be the spot where the amp can get the most air flow and still be easily reached should you need to make any adjustments or change anything out. Of course, that varies from car to car so it's hard to say. When I did my install I put my amps where I thought they'd look the best, and while I accomplished that goal it proved to be a less than ideal spot for numerous reasons. So the moral of the story is, try different spots until you settle on one that has more pro's than con's.

A really popular place to mount an amp is on the back seat. You can get some MDF and screw it to the back seat, and then mount the amps to it.

I think mounting the amp on the sub box is a bad idea... but I can not recall seeing an amp fail mounted that way. It stands to reason there are usually better locations for mounting but not always.

It might be more helpful if you explain why you think it's a bad idea
