I have a blown Treo SS 12.22
Is it worth getting reconed or should I just hunt down another woofer?
Can anyone recommend a good shop in the GTA that recones?

thanks

Depend on price. Treo's aren't a cheapie sub, so a recone is probably worth it. Cheers,

Call up Paul at perfect tones. He did a recone for me and does a great job too.

If I remember correctly he is also a Treo dealer. They are located in Milton which isn't too far from Toronto.

thanks people.
i left the sub with a buddy of mine who works in an audio store. he tested it out this morning and says its fine, no seperated voice coils. the odd thing is i tested all the variables to my system and it all came down to the sub being the issue. i guess i'll figure this out next week and if need be get the sub reconed.

Hey I'm not sure if it is different for every subwoofer but the labour was 50 dollars for mine. I got the recone kit for free from RE Audio since it was a warranty issue though so I'm not sure what something like that is worth.

Paul is very reasonable though so I'm sure he'd work you a good deal if he can.

Good luck with your setup,

Craig G
