Well I'm in the middle of pulling appart one of my Inhumans getting it ready for a recone.

I just have a quick question about pulling the spider off of the basket. Is there any easy way of doing this?

I've got the surround off with no problems but the spider is a pain in the ***. Is there anything I can do to help release the glue or anything?

I was thinking about that, but I wasn't sure if it would help release the glue or not.

Fair warning, if you plan on using a generic kit, you may end up replacing the woofer.
Try emailing our speaker tech David Barnes for some advice at service@speakercity.ca , or if you can wait ship it to him I believe the charge would be about $100. for him to rebuild it like new, with proper replacement spyder and surround.

 

Is it that tough to recone a woofer? I saw the videos on some site and it didn't look that bad.

Apparently Atomic APX recones will fit on my Inhuman, so I'm giving that a try.

I've given the measurements to George @ Atomic so I think I'll be ok.

To be honest though if I were to get it done I think I'd find someone closer. Vancouver is a bit too far to be shipping such a heavy sub! [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

 

It's not that tough, but.., a steady hand and a lot of patience helps

 

OK cool, well I'm not saying I know how to do it or anything but I'd give it a shot if it was gonna save me a lot of money.
