Reconing a sub.. need some advice.
Well I'm in the middle of pulling appart one of my Inhumans getting it ready for a recone.
I just have a quick question about pulling the spider off of the basket. Is there any easy way of doing this?
I've got the surround off with no problems but the spider is a pain in the ***. Is there anything I can do to help release the glue or anything?

I was thinking about that, but I wasn't sure if it would help release the glue or not.
I was worried it would just make things worse, so I didn't want to try without asking.

Fair warning, if you plan on using a generic kit, you may end up replacing the woofer.
Try emailing our speaker tech David Barnes for some advice at service@speakercity.ca , or if you can wait ship it to him I believe the charge would be about $100. for him to rebuild it like new, with proper replacement spyder and surround.

Apparently Atomic APX recones will fit on my Inhuman, so I'm giving that a try.
I've given the measurements to George @ Atomic so I think I'll be ok.
Besides, this is really something I'd like to learn how do to.
To be honest though if I were to get it done I think I'd find someone closer. Vancouver is a bit too far to be shipping such a heavy sub!

^ I feel the same way. I have four sweet little woofers that are very mint other than the surrounds are falling apart. I plan to attempt to resurround them myself and if that fails I'll get someone qualified to do it
