I'm going to run my sub wires using copper bolts through the side of my box. I'll be using gold plated ring terminals on the outside but will it affect S/Q if I use cheap hardware store terminals on the inside of the box?

Also, what gauge speaker wire should I be using for a sub that requires 700-800 watts?

if you realy want to eliminate the resistance, use silver solder on them. unless you can get silver nuts and bolts. but other than that you most likely won't hear any difference unless your superman. make sure that you have a nice big footprint(washers maybe).

i use 8 guage wire, but you really don;t need togo that drastic. 16-10 is fine. it all depends if your trying to keep a color scheme or motif. but other than that the thicker the better(less resistance)

my answers are usually expensive... but not this time. Use decent quality stuff but stop the bing bling where it doent matter. Gold plating isnt that big a deal electrically, its value is in appearance and corrosion resistance.

Just run your wire directly out of the box, to the amp

I would measure the resistance of the nuts & bolts. There was a guy at IASCA finals, a couple of years ago, who used copper bolts. And had a demo with a volt meter showing .003 ohms resistance. It wasn't to bling-bling but it worked.
