the fnq's seem to get good reviews all around as well as the ones i posted above. did u have them amped? and how much power did u have them running at

 

well i have beat the crap out of the set in the demo board... and no matter what i throw at em they never complain... havn't heard them in a car though... but i know they are loud, clean, and very well priced

Buying speakers is as subjective an adventure as one can go on. Asking for opinions about a particular brand or model illicits personal bias more than constructive criticism or opinions. The problem is most members have their favourite brands and have brands that they hate...so any opportunity to bash them is always jumped upon, secondly, everyone has their preference for sound reproduction...I like bright and full of impact, many others prefer softer highs and warmer sound. Quite frankly, those RF's sound very good to me, as does many other reasonably priced components, their contruction is A1, and you get a lot of speaker for the price. You really have to judge for yourself. One thing to note, if speakers sound bad on the board, there's a good chance they'll sound bad in your car. Good luck, only time, and personal experience will tell you what you like.

 

yeah thats very true... i listen to alot of rock and metal and for it the atomics do sound great. i have compared them to others in store and for the price i feel they cant be beat. but thats just my opinion, and to be honest i think they would sell alot more but being a three way most people seem to shy away from them, as they dont want to add extra holes...

 

I believe 50 watts rms would be plenty for those pioneer's in the rear, but the Rockford component set you posted in the original post can handle 100 watts rms, so 50 watts rms would power them and make them sound pretty good, but they'd sound even better if you threw some more power at them.

You could always bridge the amp so that it puts out 100 watts rms to the Rockfords and power your pioneers with the deck. Or you could just power the rockfords with 100 watts rms and disconnect the pioneers in the rear. Just a few options..

That might be a bit too much power on the pioneers. I think ideally you'd want around 100watts rms on the rockfords and 40-50 rms on the pioneers.

Keep in mind that most people into sound quality get a nice component set and power it well in the front, and have nothing at all in the back (except subs). If you're getting a powerful component set, the rear pioneers will just be for fill, so you will not need to over do it. Powering the pioneers off deck power should do the job imo.

Perhaps I am not the most qualified to answer this question, but I don't think there are any major negative consequences to bridging amps...
