RTA
Well you know my stuff is installed by me, and my Accord is fully functional and sounds damn sweet.................and I have a HUGE back ground in SQ to back up my talk............. [/QB]
That is my point, seems like everyone likes to talk tought but most have never installed the gear. You know what I am talking about.....just like most guys we see coming out looking for work with a MECP Cert and yet no nothing about the little things like how a relay works.
Been bulding cars for a LONG time and have NEVER used a RTA to set a car up unless it was set for comp such as SQ/SPL. Anyone whose is anyone will tell you....set the car the way YOU like it.
A little off topic but getting a little sick of hearing people think they know what they are talking about due to the picked up a PAS Mag.

Claudio,
I have installed my big pile of stuff all by myself.
Do I get a prize?
Tim, yes the Linear X is still available. Although you need a computer with a full length ISA slot to run the 4.X analyzer. (Think back to Windows 95 days)

HAHA
You do mean AUDIO GEAR RIGHT?
Give me your address and I will mail you a cookie Glad to see some more people actually install some of this stuff.
Hey Mugen1, I am sure if you needed you could make some contacts with some local shops and get the use of a RTA for tunning for comp.

The Termlab sensor may evolve into a full range RTA product soon (software development is needed I guess). I like the Linear X software but I can’t find a laptop old enough to use it. I bought a Behringer ($250) cause it works, it is light, and it was cheep... turns out it is very accurate too and you can change the response time on the fly. I find the RTA to be a useful tool "the ears that don’t lie"

Same goes for product...............I have seen so many people pissed off with gear they have bought because some stupid person has given them uninformed opinions and once again, because these people post alot people think they are knowledgible when in fact they just read PAS and spend a lot of time on the computer..............

I know people tune flat for competition, but they do not listen to that. Haunz what are you talking about with reverberations? Do you mean reflections? You need a TEF type analyzer that also measures time to do that, most people (including me) would have a hell of a time interpreting the data.

BTW, I install everything myself. Have been ever since day one some 30 odd years ago. I've just been out of it for a while and need to catch up with the digital stuff.
I used to know this guy, Gord Burroughs <sp?>. He was like a human RTA. Just amazing. He could tell you what frequency was needing attention and by how much -- wish I had his talent.
