I don't know if this is the right message board for this topic but here is my question.Which of the two satellite radio providers do you folks feel is better? I know that xm is a little cheaper for the subscription but if sirius has better reception it could be worth it, no? I live "out in the boonies" so I need to get the one that has the best reception. Thanks for any info.

I have a aunt in the deep woods of BC north of Kaslo type boonies and she has sirus and loves it.. Says it works amazing and never has a problem with it. The programing I think is better on Sirus.. Well it's more suited to my taste.. If I were you I would do Sirus..

As of saturday XM and Sirius will be the same sub price for everything. I love sat radio period. I am now with Sirius and am loving it. Rock selection is way better. Sound quality is a little more to my liking. There is nothing bad about either service. I find Sirius drops out less in Edmonton as the sats are right overhead.

Hey thanks for the info. I have two friends here that have sat. radio. One has Sirius, the other XM. I have been in both vehicles and have noticed that the XM "cuts out" while the Sirius is still going strong. Didn't know if this was always the case or if the guy with the XM got stuck with a lemon. 00Civic, if it plays well around Kaslo it should do O.K. here, thanks.

xm is only going to be cheaper until april 2, then it will also be 12.95. as far as reception goes, we do 5 or 6 of either one of them and don't personally think there is any difference in reception although fans of one or the other will tell you which one is better based on which one they bought. if you lock in right now you can still get the 9.99 from xm for as long as you want to pay for it. sirius has a deal for $499 for the life of your receiver. flip a coin IMO you can't go wrong with either one.

OK, I can probably get this info doing a google search, but I'm too lazy right now (on vacation). What are the advantages of satellite radio?

Are the prices above Canadian?

I also gather it's preprogammed programming (did that make sense?) and no DJs yapping head off. Like Larry and Willie on Jack FM (Vancouver).

How is the SQ with either?

Does it compare with FM, or CD?
