Question

I got like an 8 year old 12" BA sub that is in a 1.25CF sealed box and inside my 97Explorer is alright... nothing special but outside it is pretty audible.

I got a Kove Armageddon 15" in a 3.25CF net box tuned to 35Hz and the thing will kill you inside the car but outside it is no audible.

Shiva 12" in a 2.5CF net box tuned to 30Hz with 200W gets loud inside but outside it seems to be quieter than the sealed BA sub.

All subs are getting about 200W and I got a the SSF on @ 35Hz in each case. The subs are firing all to the hatch.

How and why does this happen? I know for sure I don't have cancellation and my boxes I built properly. It just seems weird how one sub can totally kill you inside the car and is quiet outside and another sub doesn't get that loud outside doesn't sound too loud inside.

who cares what it sounds like outside? y not put a neon "steal me" sign on your door instead? imo, the perfect stereo would be "cave your head in" loud, and not a peep outside the car.

Do you notice how may women look and stare when a nice system is pounding? Boom boom gets lips and slit on the leathers.

It all depends on the frequency range of the driver and how far you were standing from the vehicle. The lower the HZ the farther away you need to be ta hear it. Im sure someone will jump on this with some heavy technical **** but that pretty much answers your question.

As for the west coast boys, SORRY if I didn't put a after my JOKE!
