Ported Boxes Vs. Sealed Boxes

And yes yes i know its all about what you think sounds the best but i wanna know how many people like w.e. over w.e.

Given that all other parameters are equal or the same, a ported box will be louder (higher spl)

 

I like and have heard both on high power setups. For me it depends on space.

so ported almost every time I've been designingand building then for years even for woofer that the manufacturers say not to and wont ever do other wise and countless customers Ive swayed as well (just not generic ported sub boxes) although loud sometimes its hit or miss

 

Because that's all that matters, right? Come on...

In a vehicle, I will always used a sealed enclosure.

In a house, I will use a bass reflex, horn, or TL for my mains (OB if I have the output necessary) and sealed or IB for the sub.

You know what they say: the best box is no box.

 

this poll is stupid and half of these replies are retarded.

the answer goes something like this........if you take a sealed box and PROPERLY port it giving it proper tuning, it will be louder.

now, if you take a gay *** prefab ported box from future shop and seal it, it will probably not get any less louder b/c it was not properly ported/tuned to begin with.

i dont understand why would u even say this in a thread where exactly that is the only thing that matters?????? the thread is about whats louder, so yes thats all that matters. u are just annoyin.
