series vs parallel wiring.... is one better?
I agree with DWVW! NO SERIES! parellel coils allow BOTH coils (in a 2 coil setup) to see the exact power, split evenly between the 2 coils. an argument could be that the woofer may be able to handle more power when parrelled as well, as the power is evenly distributed, and arrives to both coils at the same time? I've always figured there must be some difference, but never checked the science of it. this thread helps with that, thanks guys.
Anyway, something usefull to add: 2 ohm subs versus 4, there are differences. In my Orion H2 series, the 2 ohm one has a few different specs than the 4 ohm ones... Why? Heck if I know...
