series vs parallel wiring.... is one better?
In response to the orion subs 2 ohm and 4 ohm differences, this is most likely due to slightly different construction of the voice coil. A 4 ohm sub has a greater number of turns of a finer gauge wire, where as a 2 ohm sub has less turns of a thicker wire. Thicker wire weights more, however, so you'll notice the "moving mass" of the 2 ohm sub is greater. Greater moving mass causes a lower resonance frequence (hence the different Fs) and causes a bit slower mechanical response (hence the larger Qms). More turns on the 4ohm also means the voice coil has more "motor strength" as the strength of any electromagnet is determined by the number of loops in the coil, as is the inductance (3.11 for the 2 ohm VS 7.05 for the 4). But less turns and thicker wire means more efficiency so the 2 ohm sub is higher there.
I think that covers everything

^^ greta job zarx! that was a good answwer!
I have been looking for the article for the last couple days that was fully indepth about this topic, but have had no luck finding it
