MDF = medium density fiber board . you can get sheets < some stores sell partial sheets > at bigger hardware stores . If this isn't something you want to do yourself , take it in to your locale stereo shop . ANY shop that has an installer with half a brain can do this quickly , cleanly , and relatively cheap . I had it done once < shame on me > and it only cost 45.00 $ .

the rep was wrong lol, he was checking the size for maxima with bose system. mine is without bose, so it should be fine
do you guys think i should get kappa 62.7i or reference 6010cs for the rear door? i just noticed the reference speakers have 90 watts rms, when the kappa 62.7i has 70 rms. will getting the reference speakers make my system louder?

one is a co-axial and the other is a component system. I would stay with the same class, as they should sound similar tonally. Also, the volume difference will be inaudible. Now, if you want more flexibility in the rear door set up, then get another set of kappa components.

i didnt even realize that, thanks for pointing it out.
im concerned about the amp being too powerful for these speakers. the infinity 7541a amp pushes out 139 watts rms (2 ohms) and these kappa speakers are 2 ohm stable, but the highest wattage the components have is 90 watts rms. is it possible to blow the speakers cuz of amp being too powerful?

bah that amp will be fine. just make sure you have your gains set proporly. Underpowering yrou speakers and pushign them into clipping is alot worse then over powering them . Both can lead to the speakers demise but with more power its easier to handle and you have head room to work with so your not pushing the amp to the limits.

As mentioned above, if you over power your speakers for too long they will die, if you clip your amp too often they will die. I Have the kappa's mids alone running active off a RF p4004 at 2ohms giving them 111 watts each with nothing but super clean sound. The tweeters are active and getting 40 watts each with no problems at all. So your amp should cause no problems as long as you control the volume **** correctly.
