Was looking at either this:
Fusion EN-AT110 Active 10" Enclosure (tube design) [enat1100]
or
should I buy
JL Audio 10WOV2 10" Subwoofer [10WOV2]
and find some cheapo 300rms amp and some cheapo box?

i personally wouldnt do the Bazooka. They arent "BAD", but you can DEFINITELY do better with your own setup.
If you like the idea of the bazooka canon setup, just build your own. They are so easy to make you could almost do it by accident.
Buy a bit of sonotube from your local home hardware or what ever, slap some 3/4" MDF pieces on the ends, cut a hole in one end, put a sub of your choice in it and BLAMMO!! Instant BOOM! I feel like the guy off those Slap Chop commercials right now. lol
As for the 80lbs slowing your Civic...I drive a Toyota Tercel...i had an IXL15 in the back in a huge 1" thick MDF box that weighed more than i do all together, and it barely slowed me down. This car is rated for something like 92hp or so. I was still averaging 790 - 800km on a tank even with the sub in the back. Now i am running a pair of 10's that weigh quite a bit along with a heavy box, and still dont notice any change compared to when i didnt have anything in the car while i waited to get the 10s. Audio is something the car cant be without. I would do it if i had a 50hp Sprint (and did at one time), or if i had a 300hp sports car, or a tank, or what ever i'm driving. Gotta have a system.
