Here is the smallest subwoofer I know of.
I don't know how well it would do though.

Parts Express:TANG BAND W4-992SD 4" SHIELDED SUBWOOFER


This might be a bit better though, much more xmax and it's 4ohms but still very small.

If price is also a factor, consider the Mach 5 MLI-65. It doesn't dig quite as deep as the JL, but the price is really cheap. Technically, it is a woofer, not a sub.

DD has their W6.5.

A trio of those hits like a single 12" sub.
