So much for extreme Customization
I have put a TV in a steering wheel before. Didnt see the point when me and my old boss did it. Nor do I see the point now. Is it cool yes. Would it be cool in a car show probably. For the street there is no purpose. My thoughts on this is for daily driver use why would you sacrifice you saftey over something that stupid anyway. If you are building a tralier queen show car that you never drive then go for it. The car is never going to be in a position to be in a accident so do it. You can't even see the screen anyway while you are sitting in that seat.
I personaly don't like air bags. That being said my wifes wheels has 2 and mine none. Go figure. I have the GOD given right to chose. I'm not against them just don't want 1 in my wheels. Having an screen of any sort is much to much for an driver to take in. I can't and won't talk on the phone never mind watch an video. I do have DVD and games for the kids. It realy keeps them ocupied durring trips.
At what year was it manditory to have air bags in the US? My 91 Ford came from there and doesn't have any.

At first I didn't like air bags or seat belts myself, in fact I still really don't like seat belts. Unfortunately, I have to say that they can definitely save your @ss. If it wasn't for those two pices of equip, the sexy one wouln't be typing this right now. The van that crossed into my lane left me with two broken legs and some pretty banged up ribs, but my face is still pretty and I didn't end up in his ride. I know you don't have to wear 'em or want 'em, but they do actually work, and you might save your family a lot of heart ache. Just my experience and my opinion.

^ See now the difference there is that seatbelts are a mandatory safety item that manufacturers MUST include and in most areas motorists are required to wear by law.
Air bags are not a mandatory item. They fall into the same category as antilock brakes - a supplemental safety device.

whether you like the safety equip or not is not as important as usin' your head when it comes to installin' the gear. Why does someone need a screen on the freakin' steering wheel, ain't the dash good enough. i can tell you I sure don't want any moron drivin' near me and my kid with a friggin' movie playin' in front of him. it's bad enough with all the a-holes and their cells, much less some yahoo watchin' pornos while he's drivin'. I ain't a government lover by any means, but if some of these guys use their head then big brother does not have to be involved. You know the idiots that cause noise ordinance laws because they like to crank 2 kilowatts at 2:00 a.m on a wednesday night on a residential street. They're the ones that are probably into steering wheel screens. Why not virtual reality goggles and video games for the driver too.
