Sooo, I deadened my car today
A nice lazy saturday afternoon... Woke up around 4pm and took a shower and thought, "what the hell, Im gonna tear my car apart and deaden it."
I got the rear seats and parcel shelf out by around 7pm.
I grabbed my can of elemental designs edeadV3 and mixed it up, admiring the smurf blue color and mango/paint thinner smell.
This stuff is great, Imo ED's best product by a large margin.
It needed a little thinning, but once I got the mix right it paints on nicely and sticks to pretty much anything.
I did my trunk lid and lid liner with two coats, then two coats on the parcel shelf and the metal underneath.
I did one coat on the back of my front door cards a couple days ago, and I plan on another coat tomorrow.
My car looks like I murdered a smurf in the back seat, but it sounds a hell of a lot better.
Definitely if you havent done any deadening, consider this product and get it done.

Its priced right around the same as other liquid deadners, $50/gallon.
Sounds a bit expensive, but a gallon goes a long way. For example, my car is considered a full size, and has a HUGE trunk, but I am confident I could deaden the whole car; doors, floor, roof and trunk with 3 gallons.
That would be two coats everywhere, and three on the floor and trunk.
Love this stuff... gonna put in an order for some more.

How thick is this stuff when applied,,,, you say three gallons, $50 per gallon,
time, masking off, clean up, trim...
I would spend another $150, get some lineX applied to the interior,, it gets up to 1/4 inch thick,, if you're playing by the rules, you can get any thickness you want. This stuff is stiff, waterproofs anything and sound deadens a ton.

You can put it on how ever thick you want.
Most of my panels are about 1/8" and there are a couple trouble spots that I spot touched with a third layer, to about 3/16".
Time is negligable...no matter how you deaden, you are looking at tearing your interior apart and applying.
Masking? bah... i threw down a clear plastic sheet over everything i didnt want to mess up.
Clean up, just throw the $2 brush away, put the top back on the can and throw away the splatter sheet.
Another $150 for lineX for what? Its pretty much the same stuff, you just pay someone to apply it. Plus its a lot more work tearing EVERYTHING out of your car all at the same time so you can get it done in one application.
Thanks, but Ill pass on that
