hijacking this thread unmercifully....

the pawn shop near me has a granite 60.2 and a reference 300 for quite nice prices (they also have a black finned-heatsink 4-channel and a REF 4-channel that matches the 300 but I dunno the model number on either).

They have a bunch of BBQ series RF amps that are way overpriced, but the REF's are 119 bucks apiece and the granite is like 80 bucks.

think they're worth it???

The Ref 300 and 3.0 were great amps -- make sure they work (sometimes the pawn shops don't test them ) -- the granite was an intro. series from my memory, but functional.

Are the Ref's over rated at all?

Are they stable down to...say...1 ohm?
I checked the soundstream manuals from the website, and apparently the 300 is, but doesnt do any more output at 2 ohm than 1 ohm?

Any experiences?

Cool, thanks DW.

I think I will check them out further, for my purposes I could use those, and they seem to be better build quality than anything I could get for equal money nowadays.

I have been using Soundstream for years. yes they declined but now they are back and they are coming on strong. I am a soundstream dealer. I test each and every piece to make sure that it does what it claims to do. They are good and better than what you think. The xstream series is a great line for the beginner who wants power but doesnt have the budget. They have even brought back the little wonder for 05. untill you have tried the 05 stuff dont knock it.
So you're saying, that you properly bench test each and every amplifier that comes through to ensure that it's doing what they say? And you test every sub and speaker for powerhandling, frequency response, and everything?
