Speaker choices for 97 F150

Hey guys, new to the forum here,

I just sold my 89 F150 last night. It had an Infinity 7541a(111w x4@4ohms) amp powering an infinity 1242w on one channel and powering Infinity 6010cs components on the other channel. The stereo sounded pretty good, I good really crank it and it wouldn't distort, however I found that the components were a little too bright for me. They really split the ear drums when you'd turn it up.

But anyways, I am buying a 97 F150 regular cab on monday, and I am going to be needing a new stereo. I kept the amp from my old truck, and that is it. Now stock in my new truck is 5x7's all around and I am really more about SQ. So I was thinking that instead of 5x7's I would go with a set of 5 1/4's or maybe even 6 1/2's if they fit easy enough(not sure?) for the fronts. I was going to leave the stock rears in or maybe get a cheapo pair of 5x7's for the rears and throw them in down the road.

Now, because of my amp, I want to go with a single 2ohm DVC 12" sub. It will be getting almost 300 watts rms according to my amp if I wire it in series.

So basically what I am asking is, what do you guys suggest I go with for speaker's/subs. Price is definately a factor in it for me, and I would prefer to get it all from a Canadian dealer of some sort, but if it really is cheaper I would go with someone from the States also. I just hate paying out the *** in duties/customs/brokerage. Too give you and idea of what I am looking at spending, I was thinking about the Kicker 05CompVR12 sub and PG RSD 5c's.

Sorry for the really long post and thanks in advance for all of the help and suggestions.

-Mark

As for subwoofer i ahve instaled quite a few Lanzar HRW124D`s and they are perfect for trucks as they are fairly thin and sound great.

You could go with a Lanzar 2 channel amplifier as well as they work great also.

See what the sponsors on the board have and if you cant find anything you like pm me and I can get aloto of brands including what I recommended above

Okay, so I checked out a few of the sponsor's. I could not find any Lanzar stuff, I never really heard that name before. But I did find a few things that I like at smartass,
JBL - GTO1202D
(2ohmDVC, 300w rms, 1200w peak)

Blaupunkt - VC540 - 5.25"s
(100w rms, 200w peak, runs at 4 ohms i think)

Ultimate - T3503 - 5.25" and these ones I really like, they run at 3 ohms so I could get more power out of my amp with them. However it says to run them at 60w rms, would it hurt them running them at over 100w rms??
(60w RMS 180w max, runs at 3 Ohms)

What do you guys think of this stuff??
