Speaker protection from water
I was wondering what would be the best way to protect my speakers from any water that may leak in. Would a butter container cut in half do the trick?
Just wondering, but why would you run amps in a wet/damp environment? Water + electronics = BADDD
He didnt say amps he said speakers...... and yes ive had car where water get in the doors/trunk constantly. the butter container would work but if u cud find where its coming in and put maybe a piece of plastic would be better

You Need to be more specific -- i think you mean protect your speakers in you doors from any water that might leak in through bad window seals right???
Yes that is what I meant, I should of clarified it more. I want to protect my speakers from any water that may leak through the window seal of the door. Just wondering what material would work best. I have a butter container cut in half with the back cut out as well. If I place this on the back of the speaker, would this provide sufficient protection? And will this affect sound quality in any way?
if its bad enuff.Take like a thicker plastic sheet like they use for home insulation and make sort of a trough that diverts is away from the speaker and into the bottom of the door and make shure it can get out.or just get a new window seal lol
Hot glue your connections?
he wants to make the water avoid the speaker in general not just the connections....
I musta been out of it this morning when i said amp....hangovers suck
Which part of the speaker exactly should I prevent water from coming in contact with. Is it just the basket or the magnet as well?
