Speaker protection from water

Personnaly i wouldnt want water getting on any of it at all, but u dont "have" to protect all of it

So would a container covering the top half of the speaker provide sufficient protection for the entire speaker?

if the container is wider than the speaker yes it should

Wow, thats really ghetto.. OR.. you could just fix the problem and prevent your doors from rusting out in the future.. fix the window seal.

I don't really know for sure that my door is letting water in, or if my speaker is actually getting wet. I just wanted to ensure that I don't damage my speakers by any means after there installed. I read several posts stating that almost all car doors allow water in, and the speakers should be protected from this by some means.

how about the XTC foam baffles?

Put them into the door through the speaker hole and trim the foam around the metal basket

Canadian tire sells rubber speaker protectors. 6-1/2 or 6x9.
