its easy...just take it what words mean... "The sound system in the vehicle must be powered by the vehicle’s primary electrical system" means yes..the battery in the factory location..I know I read that part before.

the next one yea cargo vans are not allowed in street classes because you can make one heck of coffin box and make it efficient as hell... advantage over the tiny civic that can barely fit a 4 cu ft enclosure..especially trying to compete in street C and still get decent loading

sorry bud..looks like youre competing minimum street max 3-4 with the extra battery or super street no wall..or shall you hun some more to find out that you have to compete in the extreme class??? lol... how many layers of deadening material did you use? lol to kill that awful resonance of the cargo van? you know that sound..the one that sounds like you're holding a 4x8 sheet of tin in the wind

My walls... Actually, it was pretty easy - I'd still like to cover them up as they're quite ugly, but they don't resonate anymore.

But that's another thread. This one, in fact: http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/ubb/...;f=10;t=001370

OMG. i told u like 10 posts ago that u are in SUPER STREET 1-2 NO WALL. if u dissconnect the second battery u will be in STREET MAX 1-2 with the cargo van. there is not much more to it. dont read into rules too much and look for loopholes, just take them for what they are PLEASE.

Sassmaster, were u too confused with simple rules? was that the real reason u quit spl? lol i hardly doubt it. i find it that reading the rule book once is more than enough to fully interpret rules. whatever u said there about termpro and db drag rules is totally wrong, there are like 50,000 competitors world wide that have no problem interpreting the rules, yet u find it impossible.

Db Drags is a joke
u are a joke

also let me note that u are NOT in street max 3-4. whoever said that is way off. extra battery does not put u in street max 3-4. db drag classes go by number or subs, amps and batteries. NOT only batteries, NOT only subs and NOT only amps. so if u have 2 subs, 2 amps and 2 batteries then u must look for a class that allows/requires EXACTLY that. if u read the rules again u will find a table that indicates the things u MUST have to be in a certain class. SO...........
with that extra battery u are in super street 1-2 no wall. and without it u are in street max 1-2.

It seems like the people who have the hardest time trying to understand the rules are the ones that are trying to find a loophole.

Read the rules, use common sense, and everything is clear.

Even though your battery is "switched off" you still have 2 in your vehicle, and they are attached to your amps. Sorry, but they count.

And I wouldn't say that you're smarter than the average person for having a 2nd battery.

I would have a 2nd one, but it's not in the rules. That doesn't mean I'm dumb, it just means I can read.

Next, the reason why cargo vans aren't allowed is because of all the bare metal. The internals of a van have all the seats & carpeting which cut down scores.

If they allowed cargo vans then it would be a battle of cargo vans. Which aren't really street vehicles, now are they? (just because YOU use one for a daily ride doesn't mean it's the norm)

The funny part about the battery question is you say "well it would only take me 5 seconds to show a judge how it works"

Why do YOU get 5 seconds of the judges time to show him your "exception". What if everyone at the show had something to show the poor guy. Shows would take forever!

So to answer your questions

1 - No. If it was made to be a cargo van, it's a cargo van. Sorry

2 - You CAN keep your coach battery. It just changest you to Super Street 1-2 NW

3 - I don't believe there are any certified Drag judges that come on to this board on a regular basis. You'll probably want to ask this over on Termpro. However there ARE enough people here who have been doing this for a while, so they do know what they're talking about.

Silly me... I always thought that DB Drag was supposed to be fun... The problem is that there is always the one guy who wants to win so bad that he will do ANYTHING to win... kind of pathetic if you ask me. Whatever happened to doing your best and competing "pour l'amour de jeu" -- for love of the game?

it is fun.. you just need to go into the proper class which is determined by what your stereo/install consists of..

Well it is supposed to be fun, but it isn't fun if people don't follow the designated rules.

Would you want to get stomped by someone who didn't think he had to follow the rules?

That's my point... the whinners who argue about the rules should be striped down, have honey poured on them and then staked down to an ant hill

ahh... gotcha

I totally agree. The only people worse than them, imho, are the people that do nothing but spend their days trying to find loop-holes.
