Not going to get it to 1 ohm at all with only 1 of that model sub. You would need to add a second identical sub or replace the 1 sub with a dual 2 ohm version.

You cannot wire that sub down to a 1 ohm load. The lowest you can get is 2 ohm, by wiring the voicecoils in parallel. Positive from the amp to both positives at the voicecoil terminals, and the negative from the amp to both negatives at the voicecoil terminals.

You bought that MBQ amp right, 600W @ 1 ohm... Not going to happen with this sub. You can try selling the Type R to someone, and use that money to get a 2 ohm DVC sub, that you can wire down to 1 ohm.

Sorry dude.

My advice would be to run one 2 ohm sub for the next three weeks or so. Then decide if you need another sub.

so what your saying is run my essentially the my same setup, cuz my new amp is still 500 rms like my other alpine amp. i found a guy selling 2 12" kicker CVR's for 200$ i think im gonna take him up on the offer, visions sells them new right now for 218$ a piece there one sale too 259$ reg. and the says there brand newjust used once or something, he got them as a replacement on the older models. and he is moving cities so he is selling, think if i can ditch my type R getting those 2 kicks would be better, the important questions as ive already f'ed up is can i wire to 1 OHM
