Sub enclosure for Kicker

I recently blew my RF pro 12" subwoofer, had this woofer for 17 yrs. I had a box built for my jeep but now the woofer is history. I bought a Kicker CV sub, it sounds ok in my box, but what is the recommended enclosure for this woofer? I have a ported box with a 4 inch port that is about 12 inches long. Can I improve the SQ if I extend or shorten the port. My box is about 2 cubic ft.

Thanks in advance...

I think your box is too big.... Go to stillwater designs website, and look up a "FREE" manual for that sub. it will give you reccomended box/port sizes for different applications. for example: The 12" Kicker L7's box, for spl is only reccomended to be 1.75 cubic feet. try them out, you may be able to improve your sound, just by making the inside of your existing box a bit smaller.

hope this helps a bit.

thanks, I checked it out, and its almost to spec. except for the port, I have a round 4 inch port and their recommendation is a square port with looks like has larger volume than mine, I may extend my tube to get the same volume.
