hey everybody, i`m new to this forum. kinda stumbled into it today surfin and decided to join. i`m also a memeber of carstereo.com but i wanted to give this one a try as well for obvious resaons; its canadian. my question today is a just bought a kaption d-700.1 mono amp and i`m lookin for a sub to match. price is an issue (as is with everybody), but i guess you can say that i`m want the best bang for the buck. i`m looking something inbetween spl and sq. i had considered jlw7 or six until i saw the price. any suggestions would be appriecated. thanx in advance.

ps. not sure if i want dvc or svc?

what is the output of your amp? assumming its 700+ WRMS, but at what ohm? the box for the sub will also play a big part in what the sub sounds like... once we get a lil bit more info we can help ya. but one sub you may want too look at is a ID Max 12v3, cheap er and a nice mix of SPL and SQ.

How much did you pay for that amp? The local store where I am wants $700 for it, and I thought that was a little steep(SP).

i got it for 460 plus tax. the guy was getting rid of his car stuff to make room for more home theatre. i jumped all over that like stink on a monkey. a first he tried to sell me the bass control for 50 bucks extra. i told em "no" than it went down to 20, told em "no", than finally he just threw it in, i though it would come with the amp anyway like with the fosgates, but regardless it was a real deal.

it gives you more flexibility in wiring them up. cause you can run a .5, 2, or dual 4 ohm setup
