Question Sub recommendation?

Hey guys, so I half a sort of shitty system that really needs a sub that can make it better. lol I know.

Anyway, I have a 1.1 cubic feet ported box for a 10" sub. I have a KAC 9105D amp which is 500 RMS @ 4ohms and 900 RMS @ 2ohms. (I have no idea whether or not it is a decent amp) and a 1.6 farad cap. This is what came in the deal, but a blown sub.

So I want a 10" sub that can actually use the power of the amp and sound real good. I don't need nothing amazing on the SQ side, but I've always wanted loud hard hitting bass. I understand that a single 10" might be shitty, but I cant afford to buy a new box and I need trunk space. So is there a real good sub out there that fits my needs for under $200? My local store has a Clarion PXW1052 for a decent price($115) and I'm wondering whether this will be a decent sub.

-thanks

Fi BL (1000W RMS), if they come in 10's... Around $200. You have lots of choices. F Clarion.

I ran a 10" Pioneer Premeir sub for years and it floored me how loud and clean it got, even in a premade $35 box.

For $115 US look at the SSA DCON. 300w makes this sub come alive. Might be able to afford two

Thanks for the ideas. I never heard of Fi BL before now, though it did sound familiar. I checked it out and I think Iv fallen in love, lol. the price of $300 is a bit much but it seems like your getting a lot for that. The SSA DCON looks promising also. Is there a reason why Clarion isnt a good sub or do they not put out good power?

That amp protects like mad and distorts like hell at 2 ohms.

This is part of a review that Car Audio And Electronics did on the 9104 (older version of this amp. Same thing but different case).

TEST RESULTS Output power @ 1% THD, 100Hz,
14.4 volts Mono @ 4 ohm 506 watts Mono
@ 2 ohm 644 watts Mono
@ 1 ohm N/A Output power

@ 1% THD, 100Hz, 12.5 volts Mono @ 4 ohm 444 watts Mono
@ 2 ohm 565 watts Mono
@ 1 ohm N/A Distortion at rated power

Wow, well doesn't that blow.So basically its better to try to run something at 4 ohm? sorry I don't have much experience or knowledge with these things.

They're more efficient at higher ohms, but they usually make half of the power. Some amps make the same power at 2 and 4 ohms.

So I'm basically looking for something 400-500RMS at 4 ohms to get anything good out of my amp. the higher ohms the clearer but more power tooken right?

Going by price/power/results go for a Type R (I'm assuming they make dual 2's) It'll give you decent output with 500 watts

i had a type-R on like 350 watts in a proper box and was really impressed. if u can get a deal on a used one u cant go wrong. Just make it a "proper" box.
even if u get a Dual4 just use good judgement when u set it up and play it.(assuming theres a issue with amp like sum1 said lol)
