Sub Setup

So im looking for a new sub setup for my car.
Im leaning more towards SQ than SPL. Space is really not that much of an issue. Listen to a little of everything. 6-700$ max.

Had my eye on these:
Sub
Amp

I am just getting into car audio and im looking for some opinions so any input would be nice.

I would be headed to a pair of 12" subs, with the appropriate amp and then have a proper box made for the application. It will provide more than ample amounts of bass response. Bigger does not necessarily mean better.

Don't buy that for $200 when the 12's are $100. If you want 60% sq & 40% spl than buy either an Fi Q or SSA Icon 15", build a ported box, and buy a 1000W amp although 750W is fine. If you want 70/30 than buy an Fi Q 18", a sealed box, and a 1000W amp. They should all take up around the same space, maybe the 18 will perform better in around 5 cubes. The 18 will dig deeper, be flatter, and have better SQ, while the ported box will edge it out in SPL but not by much. The Q 18 is priced at $309. If you buy used you can get a 1000W amp for about $200. What's it going in?

Edit: 2 ported 12's would be nice over the ported 15 but not a sealed 18. If 1000W is an issue than get a JL 18W6 (500W RMS).

I honestly don't think i have room for a 18. I have a vw Jetta and the subs are going in the trunk. It is a decently sized trunk it is ok if the subs take up the entire space. Getting them IN the trunk is the only issue.
So would 2 12's in a shared ported box be alright?...or separate boxes?
Is there anyone else here who has tried to fit 2 12's in the back of their 04 Jetta?

Use one box. For box space look at cardomain.com sorted by audio rating. I've seen 2 ported SSX 15's in 8 cubes in a vw trunk, maybe it was a different model.
